winter storm warning

so uh.. as i was saying.. about the weather.... 

last night during the unexpected, giant hailstorm, russ and i rushed outside to throw blankets and buckets over all the seedlings as ice stones the size of quarters ripped through foliage, battered us and lightning cracked directly overhead.  i was wearing a laundry basket on my head but russ rushed out unarmored and came back into the house peppered with red welts on his shoulders and back.  

however, the garden was covered when the snow started.   happy may!
